Venezia is a family-owned Italian restaurant located in Alabama. It has a total surface of 3,000 square feet and it’s located in an early 1900’s industrial building designed in a combination of Italian style with rustic and industrial tones.
We were tasked with turning an empty warehouse into an Italian restaurant.
The client wanted the bar area to be something between an outdoorsy and indoors style which we achieved with placing potted plants on the green windows, mixed pavement with cobblestone for the flooring and added an Italian style water fountain as the centerpiece. Thomas also wanted the restaurant to have cozy corners which we created by placing wooden walls between tables.
The warm lighting creates a welcoming and cozy atmosphere in the dining area.
In general, we redesigned the open structure of the warehouse and broke up space into more intimate areas with family-style booths and wooden panels. The interior design features many elements made from natural materials such as wood and stone. The overall design is not just stylish but also sustainable.
