Scope of services: Interior Design and Decoration

Modern villa design is very popular, as the clean, minimal look is currently trendy. However, most modern villas tend to feel cold and uninviting. It takes skillful design to maintain a modern look while adding warmth to an interior space.
This villa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, successfully does both. The focus of this simple modern villa interior design is to use a natural material palette in shades of beige and brown for a modern, elegant look. Clean, simple furniture, which is sturdy but stylish, adds to the modern vibe and makes the house suitable for children. Child safety is a primary concern in the household and has been subtly woven into the design fabric without compromising on beauty and sophistication.

The basement is designed with an open floor plan that leads to a charming tiled pool, which is the center of attraction. A cozy seating lounge is furnished with a low U-shaped sofa that looks out onto the pool. This allows adults to enjoy a game on the flat-screen TV while keeping an eye on the pool area. The sofa is upholstered in a neutral beige fabric, which is stretched over the frame to prevent sharp edges or corners.
Dark wooden slats form a backdrop for the flat-screen TV. This detail is repeated throughout the basement level in the columns near the pool and also in the center tables that are adorned with vertical gilded detailing. This attention to detail creates a cohesive design by using repeated patterns.
Light marble flooring inside transitions seamlessly to wood tiles that surround the pool, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior space. The pool is located in a small internal courtyard that is designed to be a tropical oasis. Philodendrons trail from white shelves that are attached to wood-clad columns. Trailing plants are also set into shelves on a cascading water wall that gently flows into the pool. The cool blues and greens are soothing and relaxing, giving this lovely courtyard a resort-like vibe.
A children’s play area at the far end of the courtyard adds an element of fun with a climbing wall and table tennis table. A low, frameless glass partition separates the children’s play area from the pool and acts as a safety barrier.

A semi-open, geometrically-designed screen with square grids provides a customized partition between the TV lounge and the game room. A combination of solid wooden panels and open gilded bars perpendicular to each other forms an interesting pattern and allows those in the game room to maintain visual connection with the TV lounge area.
A dark wooden pool table takes center stage and is illuminated by industrial pendant lamps.
Floor-to-ceiling windows allow plenty of natural light into the basement level, giving the spaces in this simple modern villa interior design a bright, cheery vibe.

The seating area opens up to a modern kitchen nook, which is simply furnished with a sink and a central island. Finished in white and taupe, this cool kitchenette provides additional seating for children or guests who can still be visually connected to the TV lounge area.
Modern metal-framed bar stools match the metal-framed pendant lamps. The combination of polished metal and smooth marble gives this kitchenette a sleek, minimalist look.
Marble-clad stairs next to the kitchenette lead to the ground floor. For convenience, there is also an elevator situated behind the breakfast counter.

The living room is plush and comfortable with gold accents that give it a luxurious style. Contrasting colors are artfully combined to wow visitors at first glance. The focal point of this room is the rear wall, which is like a work of art. Dark wood with gilded infill sits atop a black granite panel with gold flecks. The gold is reflected in the furniture accents that adorn the living room. The center and side tables have wood tops that are supported by geometric gilded frames. A decorative bubble-pendant lamp floats gracefully above the seating arrangement.
The beige tones are warmer than white and provide less glare off the polished floors and surfaces. Natural yellow light creates additional warmth, making the living room feel intimate and inviting.

Crisp white walls are offset by dark frames for doors and windows. Sheer white curtains disappear into a channel above the dropped ceiling, adding to the perception of height in the living room. The entrance foyer is simple and elegant, with a sleek console table displayed in black and gold. A gilded mirror above the console reflects the finishes on the opposite wall. The design is simple but eye-catching, due to the effortless blend of colors and materials.

A dining nook is closed off from the living room by wood-framed sliding glass partitions. Translucent glass used for the partitions offers privacy when closed. When open, the flow of space is seamless from one room to the next, visually expanding the space.
Dark wooden panels contrast with alternating white panels. A touch of gold elevates the design and adds vitality to this dining area.

A semi-open partition, like the one in the basement, separates a cozy majlis from the stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms. Light walls and sheer curtains make this room look bigger than it is. Comfortable lounges are centered around a simple round table, which is illuminated by a bespoke pendant with intersecting gilded rings.

Dark stone juxtaposed with warm wood creates a glow in the bathrooms. Floating storage below the counters creates hidden storage, keeping the counters free of bathroom clutter. The bathroom designs are functional and sophisticated, with sleek fittings and clean lines.

Wood and fabric are used in the master bedroom on the upper level to create a welcoming, intimate feel. A fabric wall panel extends the width of the room, acting as a soft headboard. Above the fabric panel, large wooden panels extend to the ceiling. A layer of sheer curtains allows natural light to brighten the surfaces in the room. Yellow light from ceiling-mounted flush lights and track lights emphasizes the feeling of warmth.
The curtain rails are hidden in a channel between the wall and the dropped ceiling. This detail extends the eye upwards, making the ceiling seem higher than it is.
Gold accents are kept to a minimum, as the intended vibe is one of intimacy and coziness. Hence, marble is replaced by natural wood flooring. The furniture pieces have rounded profiles to emphasize the feeling of comfort; the use of hard lines is minimized in the bedroom.

A taupe-colored panel with rounded edges holds a flat-screen TV. The rounded edges mirror the profile of the furniture. The adjacent walk-in-closet is designed with taupe-colored sliding panels. Hidden ceiling lights provide bright illumination.

White, gold and brown make for a vibrant color palette in the upstairs bathrooms. Two oblong mirrors mounted above the washbasin counter reflect the textured stone wall that forms a backdrop for a white tub. Gold frames the mirrors and glass panels that separate different zones in the bathroom.
Shiny gold globes suspended from the ceiling add a delicate finishing touch to this bright washroom.
Good design lies in the little details. This simple modern villa interior design amply illustrates this with careful attention to detail throughout the house. Partitions, rather than closed walls, define areas and create flowing spaces. Repeated details in different elements throughout the house effortlessly direct the eye through the rooms and make for a well-planned, cohesive design.
