Palaces are defined by luxury, grandiose proportions and inherent style; this description definitely applies to this neoclassical palace design in Doha Qatar. Palatial in its beauty and classic style, the exterior façade of this palace follows the principles of classic design where achieving perfection in proportion is of vital importance. Beige colored marble cladding for exterior walls is embellished with stucco molding, which aids in breaking up the monolithic façade as well as defining the levels in the two-story façade.

The front entrance to this palatial villa is framed by two pairs of slender columns with fluted shafts and ornate capitals that bear the load of the upper level. Designed with additional height to enhance visual impact, the columns are perfectly proportioned and designed to highlight the grand entrance.
Curbside appeal is greatly enhanced by a tall, delicate wrought iron gate with an open design to give passersby a peek into the magnificent landscape beyond.
Equally spaced and carefully proportioned arched windows on the upper level, create an appealing rhythm, which is further emphasized by the accompanying row of lower level rectangular windows. The visually pleasing proportions and artful placement of windows adds a timeless beauty and charm to the exterior façade of this palatial villa.

The gardens surrounding the neoclassical palace design follow its formal design aesthetic. Green topiary neatly clipped into geometric, conical shapes march along the property walls, drawing the eye to the far ends of the property. Slender lollipop topiaries are equally spaced between the cones. The unexpected use of wood cladding for the walls adds an element of surprise to the landscape. Not commonly associated with formal garden designs, the element of wood forms a warm, neutral backdrop for the lush green foliage. The unusual combination of wood with the more classical silhouette of the villa adds a unique characteristic to the villa’s garden design.

A curved glass wall with double height glazing is topped by an ornate, circular wall with decorative frieze and molding. Opening up to rear landscape, the glass wall overlooks a classically designed garden with a formal cascading fountain, surrounded by low, colorful planting. Set in a mix of colored gravel, the beautiful gardens complement the classic lines of the villa.

The unexpected amalgamation of old and new continues into the interiors. Decorated with beautifully ornate, classically proportioned elements, the interior of the neoclassical palace design is magnificent to behold. With a high level of ornamental detail in the design of the columns, wrought iron railings and surface finishes, this palace invokes a sense of timeless luxury and elegance.
The uncharacteristic use of modern furniture with clean, sleek lines adds a dynamic quality to the interiors, leaving one with a feeling of delightful anticipation. The combination of classical interior design style with modern, minimalist furniture accessories creates a harmonious balance, grounding the design without detracting from the opulence of the villa’s interiors.

The first-floor lounge further demonstrates this interesting balance in mixing old and new. Designed with plush carpeting, heavy drapes and a traditional padded lounge sofa, the room displays all the elements of classic interior design. Molding on wall panels and ceiling further reinforce this. Suddenly, two rich, modern blue lounge chairs added to the mix, are an unexpected and refreshing change. With clean lines and graceful curves, the rich blue upholstery perfectly counterbalances the subdued taupe color palette. Rather than clashing with the traditional décor, the modern furniture pieces uplift the interiors.

At the ground level, a modern gold-framed round dining table is complemented by dining chairs upholstered in two different colors; a distinctly modern gesture in an otherwise conventional room. The color of the dining chairs is echoed by the rich drapery, acting as a foil to the white walls and light flooring in this dining nook.

Large and spacious, the time-honored ground floor kitchen in this neoclassical palace design has luxurious marble laid in a herringbone pattern. Classic molding adorns the kitchen cabinet panels, in a muted shade of grey. Ornate carvings in an oval pattern draw attention to the conventional style of the kitchen. Placed in the center, a sleek breakfast island stands as a focal point with its clean, simple profile. Contemporary cream-colored bar stools, on sleek metal frames, provide seating, around the island. The juxtaposition of modern breakfast chairs surrounding the sleek island in a distinctly conservative kitchen décor add a timeless elegance to the space.

Orthogonal furniture with a simple profile defines the interiors of this majlis. The geometric carpet with the gold framed lounge set is complemented by the contemporary art work on the walls. Set in a gold frame, the artwork provides a subtle pop of color to offset the earthy tones of this room. Soft drapes and molded wall panels with decorative carvings form the perfect backdrop to the modern furniture set.

The grand majlis provides a warm, relaxed vibe for entertaining. Soft leather couches placed against the walls are classical in design with curved backs and rounded profiles. Adjacent to these, are modern designer tables framed with matt gold. Mirroring the contemporary coffee tables is a pyramidal, metal framed light fixture suspended from the ceiling. Abstract wall art provides a pop of dark color as a contrast to the tan colored couches.

The dining room blends traditional moldings on wall panels and ceiling with contemporary furniture and accessories. The strong silhouette of the rectangular dining table emphasizes the orthogonal proportions of the room. The focal point of this space has to be the eclectic suspended luminaire, which adds an element of unpredictability to the room, preventing it from becoming boring and static.

The bedrooms are even more bold in their mix of styles. The soft lines of drapery, the textile-clad wall panel behind the headboard and simple moldings on the wall, co-exist with the geometric lines of the parquet flooring and the sophisticated profile of the bed. This invokes a soft, modern style filled with old and new design elements.

A mix of subdues hues provide a muted, but sophisticated backdrop for furnishings in accent colors. The turquoise bed and bedroom bench add a pop of vibrant color to the otherwise sedate room, elevating the mood. The dark parquet flooring emphasizes the lines of the furniture, making the rich turquoise furniture stand out.

This bedroom is characterized by the soft textures of fabric, from the graceful drapes to the padded, textile headboard. Contemporary art and bedroom accessories, with clean, strong lines, stand out against the softness of the fabric. A contemporary lounge chair, with smooth curves, picks up on the gracefully curving legs of the bedroom bench. Dark furniture is in stark contrast to the white bedroom wall panels.

Muted feminine colors create a soothing, calm vibe in this bedroom. Classical furniture accessories match the traditional paneled walls with moldings. Antique looking mirrors with ornate gilded silver frames stand out in sharp contrast to the lone modern accent in the room provided by the dark leather armchair. Its strong, smooth lines are in sharp contrast with the ornate curvature of the mirrors and bedframe; it is this very contrast that provides visual interest in the bedroom. This visual contrast is deliberately used by the designer through out the interiors to add flow and movement.

In the vanity room, the theme of mixing old and new is manifested in the combination of modern bathroom accessories with clean straight lines set against a classic striped wall. Traditional lamp shades flank a simple, rectangular mirror; the juxtaposition of these contrasting elements is what makes both stand out.
The juxtaposition of old and new, used throughout the neoclassical palace design, adds a dynamic quality and flow to the entire space, creating a powerful impact and creating a sense of curious anticipation as to what other surprises this luxurious palace has in store for us!
