First impressions always make the greatest impact; designers have one shot to attract new customers as well as identify immediately with existing ones. This is precisely why storefront design is crucial to attracting business. The Berleigh luxury shoe store design is a prime example of trendy storefront design. Located in London, where real estate is at a premium, the store design maximizes its frontage with large floor to ceiling front windows designed to optimize visibility.
Maintaining the heritage of its 100-year-old structure, light-colored brick pillars frame the large storefront window. While the colonial architecture is respected, state of the art, modern lighting, and displays help the brand to maintain its competitive edge against well established neighboring brands Hermes and Christian Louboutin.

The store interior is bright, airy and elegantly designed. Although compact, the luxury shoe store design feels spacious. Wall space is primarily used for simple display stands that focus attention on the stylishly crafted merchandise, keeping the central space mainly for circulation. Service areas, such as the store and office are relegated to the rear.
Ambient lighting draws customers into the brightly lit interior, where most of the merchandise is visible at a glance. The use of gold edging for the display as well as the delicate suspended lighting fixtures adds a touch of luxury and reflects light within the store. This eliminates the need for harsh spot lights, which may distract from the visual appeal of the displayed merchandise.

Shades of gray, taupe and white are the primary choice of color for the luxury shoe store design. These muted shades are both luxurious in their visual appeal and also muted enough so as not to detract from the displays. A hint of the external colonial style is mirrored in the moldings on the pillars, but the layout itself is minimalist and modern, reflecting the style of the brand itself.
