World famous Italian coffee brand, Lucaffe, brings its passion and enthusiasm for artisan roasted coffee to Saudi Arabia. Opening its new branch in the capital Riyadh, the contemporary café design reflects the simplicity and authenticity that is associated with the international brand. The layout of the café is clean and uncluttered, with ample space to move around and browse the variety of products on offer.
The vintage, industrial vibe of the Italian coffee brand is reflected in the choice of interior furnishings and fittings. White, brick-clad walls are a perfectly neutral backdrop for the wall displays and images that tell the story of Lucaffe coffee. Natural light fills the interior space with energy and brightness, creating a warm, homely environment in which patrons can enjoy their coffee.
The round, service counter is clad in warm, natural wood, against a dark background that is the color of rich coffee beans. The red accents reflect the passion and integrity that has nurtured the production process from the growth of the bean to the flavor enjoyed in the cup! It also acknowledges the predominantly red-colored packaging of different coffee products.
The projection above the counter serves as a storage area on the mezzanine level and also makes the service area feel more intimate and enclosed.

Contemporary Café Design - Lucaffe 2 - The industrial mood of the contemporary café design is expressed by the use of the double height white brick walls, the projector lamps and the splash of red of the service counter top that match the packaging of the Lucaffe products, by Comelite Architecture, Structure and Interior Design.

The brand’s commitment to sustainability in the production and packaging of their coffee is reflected in the interiors of this contemporary café design as well. Self-service counters allow customers to select and make their own coffee, encouraging customers to experiment with the different flavors and blends displayed on the curved display shelves.
The displays themselves are neat and ordered, without being fussy. Neatly packaged coffee, tagged cups and easy-to-use machines encourage customer involvement in making their own coffee, giving them ownership over the process.

Contemporary Café Design - Lucaffe 3 - Lucaffe's motto "e vivi la vita!" is displayed on the white brick wall, highlighting the brand's concept and work ethic, round, wall mounted tables with metal supports along with the bar stools add to the industrial feel of the contemporary café design, by Cmoelite Architecture, Structure and Interior Design.

At the far corner, customers can enjoy the coffee they have made on round, wall-mounted tables. Displayed on the wall in bright, bold lettering is the brand’s motto – ‘e VIVI LA VITA’ which translates loosely to enjoy the life you live; a concept that once again pays homage to the love and dedication that has gone into the production of each original flavor and blend of coffee.
The use of round shapes throughout the restaurant is a reminder of the round packaging of the ESE (easy served espresso) pods that Lucaffe is famous for. The packaging is made of paper that is a 100 percent compostable in an endeavor to make the product highly sustainable.

Contemporary Café Design - Lucaffe 4 - The mezzanine level of the contemporary café houses a specialized training area for the employees to learn the process of quality coffee making, strips of bright red cladding cut through the white brick wall, accentuating the brand's identity, by Comelite Architecture, Structure and Interior Design.
Contemporary Café Design - Lucaffe 5 - A compact and casual meeting area, located on the mezzanine level of the contemporary café and close to the maintenance and employees' training area, provides quick access to quality control management and supervision, by Comelite Architecture, Structure and Interior Design.

While patrons enjoy the supreme quality coffee on the ground floor, the mezzanine level of this contemporary café design houses a professional training floor, a first of its kind in Saudi Arabia. This compact space houses training stations, a laboratory, cupping stations and a pour over station, where employees can learn the intricacies of producing high-quality coffee.
While fully equipped with all the professional equipment required, the décor is fun and charming, reflecting the vibe of the brand itself. An office, maintenance area and a small meeting place complete this area, ensuring that any issues related to quality control can be quickly and efficiently resolved on site.

The Lucaffe contemporary café design is charming and fun, yet reflective of the professionalism that must go hand-in-hand with the production of the prime quality coffee that has catapulted the brand to world-wide fame.
