Bedding store interior design requires an individualized approach to planning that is different from other retail businesses. You want to provide a pleasurable and clear selection process for customers without confusing them or detracting from the offered merchandise.
At the new flagship Fomy bedding store in the Al Qassim region of Saudi Arabia, CAS was tasked with creating a concept that linked store design with customer experience. Our primary tasks were to ensure that customers could navigate the store easily and to come up with a distinct design that set this brand apart from other bedding retailers.
As we were the design specialists on this project, our drawings were to be executed by an external contractor. Our shop drawings and specifications were meticulous and detailed, ensuring that the physical space was built true to design. The CAS design team were available at all times for any questions the contractors may have had, guaranteeing a high-quality retail space that matched the drawings accurately.
To ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers, the store design was kept bright, airy and simple. Three shelf designs were repeatedly used throughout the store to incorporate a variety of different merchandise and to provide variety in the display options.
We used open shelf designs to ensure maximum visibility for all merchandise. As there were no additional storage rooms envisioned for the store, we incorporated closed cabinets and drawers in the bottom portions of the shelving to store additional items.
The color theme is earthy, utilizing natural materials such as wood, which is combined with concrete and black metal for an edgy, contemporary vibe. The result is a modern industrial look that provides a neutral canvas to showcase merchandise.
The structure is often used as a part of the display to enhance the industrial look. Columns are camouflaged as a part of the shelving for some displays. They are also used to cantilever shelves for other displays, creating flexible ways of showcasing merchandise.
The store is designed on two levels: primary merchandise is displayed on the lower level and secondary merchandise on the upper level.
Central floor space is utilized for attractive displays of beds, which are layered with bed covers and pillows that create colorful centerpieces. There is always plenty of space around central displays to maintain an uninterrupted flow of traffic. This also ensures that all the merchandise is clearly visible at all times.
Ample track lighting keeps the displays well-lit and easy for customers to locate.
Creative combinations of modern and traditional materials are used to create a bedding store interior design that ensures easy flow and a contemporary look that is unique to the brand.
