Most of us spend several hours a day working in an office environment. Hence, office interiors need to serve several functions: they need to appear professional, motivate employees, incorporate the latest technologies and equipment, and look visually appealing.
This modern office interior design for Amaar Real Estate in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, veers away from traditional office spaces with an unconventional color palette. Taking inspiration from the logo and the owner’s vision for the company, the design is dynamic and futuristic, symbolizing growth, movement, and development.
A palette of metal, glass, and fabric in vibrant tones creates a formal, professional workspace, which is designed to enhance productivity and creativity.
The office space is located on two levels on the 14th and 15th floors of a prominent office building.
The 14th-floor office is primarily for staff and comprises common meeting areas and workspaces.
At the entrance, visitors are immediately struck by the minimalist modernism of the office. The color palette consists of deep blue, black, and silver, all of which are used in varying gradients and inspired by the colors of the logo.
Repetitive colors, materials and detailing are artfully used to create a flowing design. Spaces are subtly distinguished using partitions that are visibly nonexistent, making the entire space feel open and airy.
The reception counter sets the tone for the rest of the office. Walking into the office, the first thing you notice is the choice of furniture. Simple yet streamlined, the reception desk portrays a powerful and futuristic design vibe.
The use of metal, highly reflective surfaces and glass throughout the office gives it a technical feel, which is in keeping with the forward-thinking vision of the company.
The deep blue adds energy and vibrancy to the interior space. The dark colors used for this modern office interior design do not overpower the senses because of the large amount of natural light that comes in through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The waiting area is sparsely furnished with custom-designed seating. Simple but bold, the seats use neutral-colored upholstery with soft edges. Tall, dark backrests act like mini partitions, providing some privacy without the need for solid dividers.
The materials and color palette used in the office space are mirrored in the furniture to create innovative pieces that are modern and cutting edge in their appearance.
Carpets in several shades of gray counterbalance the hard surfaces and create free-flowing zones that tie the design together.
Metal-framed glass partitions separate the work stations from the reception area. Glass allows for privacy without making the work areas feel claustrophobic (as normal partitions would). This also allows natural light from the peripheral windows to filter through to the center of the office.
The innovative lighting reinforces the high-tech vibe of this modern office interior design. A black metal frame suspended from the ceiling is embedded with LED strip lights. The lights recede into the dark ceiling, making the light source invisible. Downlights augment the overhead lighting above the workstations.
The conference rooms are divided into two meeting areas, each capable of seating four people at a round table. Both rooms provide views of the city and are stylishly designed with light, marble-clad walls that brighten up the meeting space. The clean, ergonomic lines of the furniture give it a modern aesthetic appeal that is matched by the crispness of the rooms.
Curtains surrounding each meeting room act as mobile partitions, which provide privacy during meetings.
Whether it’s partitioned rooms, the kitchenette or work spaces, transparent partitions create a feeling of continuous movement between different zones, encouraging collaboration and flow of ideas.
The communication and storage rooms adjacent to the work stations are cleverly hidden behind a full-height, vibrant blue wall. Doors leading to the service areas are disguised by painting them the same color as the wall.
The blue color is cleverly used to emphasize the wall but hide details, such as the doors embedded into it.
The cellular office is sparingly furnished with a work table and chair. The high contrast between the dark gray and bright white surfaces gives this space an ultra-modern vibe.
As with other spaces in the office, the storage units are completely camouflaged by painting them the same color as the wall. This ensures that the office always looks neat and organized and is ready for client visits at any time. Nothing ruins a modern office design as quickly as unwanted clutter.
Blue floor tiles and a floating counter contrast with white walls to give this bathroom a chic look. Unusual features, such as a mirror suspended from the ceiling, reflect the level of innovation and creativity showcased in this modern office interior design.
The elevator lobby that leads to the office uses high contrasting colors and materials to achieve a sleek, modern look. A series of downlight cans protrude from the ceiling in a strict grid format. The lobby prepares visitors for what to expect and transitions seamlessly to the office interiors by using the same materials and colors.
The 15th-floor office is for the CEO and is designed with a board room to host large meetings.
The design vibe of the upper-level office is identical to that on the 14th floor, instantly associating with the company’s brand. The sleek reception area is framed by a semi-circular perforated metal divider. It is painted a vibrant blue to match other accents in the office and is a creative way of screening the printing and copy machine.
The executive office is a professional and elegant room with white marble walls and plush gray carpeting. A solid, white, circular column anchors the corner room, which boasts inspiring views of the city and the ocean.
The slim, blue-tinted glass door framed by a black and white color scheme emphasizes the modern vibe of this stylish office space.
The executive desk is constructed with the same marble as the walls and is supported by a sleek black metal frame. Storage is integrated seamlessly into the office interior, providing an innovative solution to a clutter-free office space.
White doors in an arched metal frame lead to the boardroom, which can seat twelve people. A long, white marble table rests in the center of the room. The room is enclosed by floor-to-ceiling clear glass partitions. Black storage cabinets, like the ones in the executive office, are built into a white wall that houses a television. Soft gray carpeting flows under the partitions, visually connecting the boardroom to the reception area outside.
The entrance to the service areas is simply furnished and follows the high-contrast design style of the rest of the office space.
The service areas are accessed through an angled entrance, eliminating the need for a door. A black wall, which appears as a vertical extension of the ceiling, leads to the kitchenette and the restroom.
A frameless mirror bathes reflections with a blue tint. A dark gray carpet lines the entrance to the restrooms. Dim light illuminates the entrance, creating an air of mystery.
Bold, daring, contrasting colors are used in the kitchenette and bathroom to direct circulation. A dark entrance gives way to white floors and walls, which flow into the bathroom. The surfaces are mostly white with dark accents.
As these spaces are both interior without windows, the white surfaces reflect light to make the rooms appear larger.
The elevator lobby on the top floor is designed similarly to the one on the floor below. Visitors can instantly associate the colors of the elevator lobby and the office space beyond with the company’s brand.
The use of contrasting colors, vibrant blue accents, and futuristic metal surfaces translate the vision of the company. Each element in the office space has a purpose; every element, from the flooring, the ceiling, the walls, and the furnishings, plays a part in unifying the space into one dynamic modern office interior design. When viewed as a single space, it exudes a momentum: a feeling of stepping into the next century, which aligns with the developmental goals of the company.
